We’re looking for a deeply caring, supportive, and skilled Classical Indian Dance (Bharatanatyam, Kathak) and Bollywood dance instructor to support our online program.
The instructor must have a strong Online-Zoom experience and have experience working with beginners and older women over 40 yrs+

Responsibilities
  • To instruct a 50-minute fun, safe, and effective class for all levels and abilities with confidence
  • Understands the components of a dance choreography class for beginners and older adults (an introduction, dynamic warm-up, dance learning and practice, and a cool-down)
  • Has a strong dance back round in at least one Classical Indian Dance and Bollywood is a huge asset
  • Can cue effectively using their voice and hands
  • Has a STRONG Zoom set up using a laptop or computer, a microphone or earphones, can share audio via Zoom, and has high-speed internet.
  • Shows up 10 minutes before class to set up their online class, greet participants, and ends on time
  • Able to teach a class in the interest of the group participants (modifying movements for beginners and women with no dance experience)
  • Willing to instruct a small class for older women (anywhere from 4 to 15 in a class)
  • Shows compassion for those recovering from chronic health conditions
  • Open to receiving regular feedback and discussing issues/concerns in-person & phone
  • Able to communicate all issues and concerns well and in a timely manner by phone and text (including being late, class cancellations, and participants’ issues, and
  • injuries)
  • Shows professionalism at all times (including conversations and workout attire) and upholds the organizer’s code of ethics
  • Agrees not to promote themselves, their classes/services, or other companies in class
  • Able to instruct in a community setting (not a traditional gym/dance studio)
