Title: Online Learning Coach
Division: School-wide
Reports to: Interim Head of School or their designee
Status: Full-Time, Exempt, (Academic Year), CalSTRS Retirement Eligible
Salary: $34.49 - $36.30/hr. and MWA Benefits

SUMMARY

The Online Learning Coach plays a pivotal role in ensuring student success within our school’s online learning programs, primarily utilizing the EdOptions Academy and Apex Learning platforms. This position is responsible for providing direct academic support, technical guidance, and motivational coaching to students across grades 5-12 who are utilizing EdOptions and/or Apex Learning for credit recovery, accelerated learning, or supplemental instruction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience, preferably in a 5-12 setting.
  • A skilled classroom manager who can create an engaging and productive learning environment. A CA Single Subject Teaching Credential (preferably in Math) is a plus, but the ability to effectively manage a high school classroom is paramount.
  • Demonstrated experience with online learning platforms; specific experience with Apex Learning and/or EdOptions Academy is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and addressing varied learning needs.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • The ideal candidate is a highly organized, tech-savvy educator with a strong commitment to student achievement and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, individualized learning environment.
  • Strong understanding of effective instructional strategies for online and blended learning environments.
  • Excellent technology skills, including proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and general computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to student support.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping all students achieve academic success.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to uphold and reinforce school policies and procedures. Professional orientation, including appearance and attitude, reinforcing a culture of excellence.
