Location: Kootenay Discovery School (located within the Fernie Learning Campus), Fernie, BC
Contract Type: Part-time Temporary (0.40 FTE)
Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $25,342 to $44,938, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

• Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification.
• Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting.

JOB SUMMARY:

Online Teacher - Grades 7-12
0.40 FTE temporary contract, starting September 18, 2025 or upon completion of the posting process to June 26, 2026.
Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience in online pedagogy and Learning Management Systems at the Middle and Secondary School level.
This position requires demonstrated proficiency in online teaching and digital pedagogy. Candidates must be fluent in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams) and experienced with Learning Management Systems such as Brightspace or Moodle. Strong skills in video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom), digital organization tools (OneNote, SharePoint), and online assessment methods are essential.
This position will have a home base of Kootenay Discovery School in the community of Fernie. This is a distance learning school.
