POSITION

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and parents.
  • Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of their unique learning needs.
  • Ability to create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes academic growth.
  • Familiarity with educational materials and resources relevant to the subjects being taught.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
  • Strong academic background in your subject area(s).
  • Reliable computer, internet connection, and quiet workspace.
  • Availability for consistent weekly or bi-weekly sessions.
  • Must successfully complete a Police Vulnerable Sector Background Check prior to tutoring with Scholara.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct one-on-one (60 minutes each) tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and motivation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Utilize various teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Maintain professionalism and punctuality.
