  • Develop, plan, and manage delivery schedules to ensure timely and efficient completion of multi-drop routes.
  • Balance staffing levels, route assignments, and vehicle allocation to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Monitor dispatch times and package flow, addressing any potential delays in real-time.
  1. Driver & Staff Management
  • Supervise and support Delivery Associates (drivers), providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new staff, fostering a motivated and productive workforce.
  • Manage attendance, conduct regular performance reviews, and address disciplinary matters where necessary.
  • Lead daily team briefings, including safety updates and operational targets.
  1. Vehicle & Site Management
  • Oversee vehicle allocation, daily safety checks, and maintenance scheduling to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Manage fleet utilisation, fuel efficiency, and vehicle reporting to control operational costs.
  • Ensure the delivery station is safe, well-maintained, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
  1. Issue Resolution & Compliance
  • Act as the first point of escalation for operational or delivery challenges, resolving issues swiftly to minimise disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with DSP policies, HSE regulations, and all relevant transport laws (including DfT requirements).
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, or complaints, implementing corrective action and reporting as required.
  1. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, package accuracy, and safety compliance.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on operational performance, staffing, fleet management, and compliance issues.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  1. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain clear, effective communication with drivers, supervisors, station managers, and DSP leadership.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Represent the DSP professionally at all times, promoting a positive image of the business.
