• Accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
• Review clinical documentation to ensure it supports the codes assigned, enhancing the integrity of the medical record.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous documentation and improve coding accuracy.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements to minimize claim denials.

Desired Candidate Profile

• A minimum of an associate degree in health information technology or a related field is preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is highly desirable.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in medical coding within a clinical setting is essential.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and coding software is critical for efficiency.
