Position Summary: AUIB invites applications for multiple open rank faculty positions in Petroleum Engineering. These are teaching-intensive roles focused on delivering high-quality instruction in core petroleum engineering topics. The successful candidate will play a key role in training students through lectures, labs, and design projects, connecting theory to real-world applications. These are primarily teaching-focused roles with opportunities for pedagogical research, curriculum development, and student mentorship. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator committed to undergraduate and graduate student success in a dynamic, project-based learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Teach a 4/4 course load per academic year in Petroleum Engineering, including but not limited to: Drilling Engineering, Production Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Petrophysics, or Formation Evaluation. • Supervise undergraduate lab sessions (e.g., core analysis, fluid properties, drilling simulators) and capstone design projects. • Provide academic advising and career mentoring to undergraduate students. • Contribute to the maintenance and modernization of teaching laboratories and software (e.g., industry-standard simulators). • Participating in department service, including student chapter advising (e.g., SPE), recruitment, and accreditation activities (ABET). • Stay current with industry trends and technologies to ensure curriculum relevance. Ideal Candidate Profile: • Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. • Prior teaching experience at the college level as instructor of record. • Relevant industry experience in computing, hardware design, or AI applications. • Experience developing hands-on laboratory exercises or project-based curricula. • Interest or experience in pedagogical innovation and educational research. #LI - REMOTE Why AUIB?
