Description

DESCRIPTION

The new Clemson University Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to lead the development and implementation of course materials relevant to veterinary microbiology/virology within the diseased animal curriculum of the DVM program. The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on teaching and research. Academic rank would be commensurate with experience.
The faculty member will play a vital role in developing and delivering the second year of the curriculum for the next generation of veterinarians for the state of SC. The Diseased Animal course series is a team-taught course focusing on disease pathogenesis in domestic animal species including pathology, microbiology, virology and parasitology. Utilizing the classroom, microscopy lab, live animals, and teaching technology, this faculty member will provide students with an applied and clinical science-based education in these areas, preparing them to progress into more advanced coursework. Working collaboratively with other faculty and staff, the content in this course series will align with the coursework occurring simultaneously in the Clinical Skills and Professional Development courses in the second year of the DVM program and building on the Healthy Animal course series from year 1. This faculty member will help ensure students achieve the necessary milestones in all pre-clinical competencies.
Information about the proposed curriculum is available here – https://www.clemson.edu/veterinary-medicine/students/curriculum.html
