Description

The Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience (NIN) is an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. It conducts fundamental and strategic scientific research in the field of the cognitive functions of the brain, such as consciousness, perception, movement, learning and social interactions. The NIN research groups generate a lot of data and we are determined to store our data according to the FAIR principles. Also we want to make our data easily available for other scientists. The institute has an existing data policy that needs to be further implemented and developed.
Due to the retirement of our current data manager, we have a vacancy for a Open Science Data Manager (38 hours per week)

An in-house built app consisting of several Bash, PowerShell and JavaScript scripts is used to assess the data storage, compliance to the NIN data protocol and provide feedback to users. You are responsible for (further) developing our data management and policy regarding organizing, storing, securing, archiving and making research data FAIR (machine readable). You are an intermediary between researchers and ICT and provide both strategic and tactical advice on storage and sharing of research data.
