About the role The Open Space Planning and Design Officer provides planning advice and design expertise to support the delivery of high-quality public parks and open spaces across the City of Greater Geelong. The role contributes to statutory planning referrals, open space design and strategic planning to help create vibrant, well-connected community spaces. Key responsibilities include: * Review and prepare responses to statutory planning referrals and development applications relating to public open space. * Provide design expertise through the preparation of concept plans, reserve masterplans and landscape designs. * Interpret relevant planning legislation and policies relating to the provision of public open space. * Analyse open space planning challenges and contribute to practical planning and design solutions. * Prepare reports, plans and presentations using relevant design and GIS software. * Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, developers, consultants and community stakeholders.  About you To be successful in the role, you will bring experience in landscape architecture, open space planning or a related field, with strong design and planning skills and the ability to interpret statutory planning processes. You will be an organised and collaborative professional who can manage multiple projects, communicate effectively with stakeholders and contribute to high-quality planning and design outcomes. Essential Experience: * Tertiary qualification in a landscape design profession such as landscape architecture or a related field. * Current Victorian Driver’s Licence. * Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
