Hiring Unit:
Opera McGill, Schulich School of Music
Position Summary:

The student Opera Area Assistant supports the Directors of Opera Studies and the Opera McGill program by facilitating communication and ensuring smooth coordination between students, faculty, guest artists, and administrative staff. This role requires professionalism, discretion in handling sensitive information, and the ability to oversee logistical details that connect both Opera McGill classes and productions.

  • coordinating students’ schedules so we can schedule coachings,
  • collecting headshots and bios for programs,
  • proctoring auditions,
  • communicating details of colloquium performances open to Opera McGill students only,
  • liaise between guest artists and production teams (external hires) and administrative staff (ex: Directors of Opera Studies, Events Administrator)

  • Knowledge of the Schulich School of Music and Opera McGill, an asset
