Operating Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving any requests that are on the work order system.
  • Utilize work order system to upkeep work queues.
  • Time management and prioritizing oldest to newest requests.
  • Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing a multitude of items indoor and outdoor (carpet tiles, ceiling tiles, cement pavers etc.)
  • Mitigating broken glass, foul odors, chemical spills and leaks indoors and outdoors.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance tools and materials.
  • Ensuring compliance of vendors with Site specific safety rules and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shift (nights, weekends and if needed holidays)
  • Working on ladders and scissor lifts.
  • Complete all assigned computer based-training.

Operating Engineer Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Understanding of fundamental hand tools.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading building drawings
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
