The Real Property and Environment Branch (RPEB) is a dynamic and forward-looking corporate services organization that aims to ensure that NRCan has optimal real property assets that enable the delivery of world class science programs while balancing sustainability and affordability. EDUCATION
Provincial (Ontario) certificate of qualification in one of the following trades: Operating Engineer Fourth Class (minimum), Electrician, Refrigeration Mechanic, Plumber, Pipefitter, or Industrial Mechanic- Millwright
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
Experience in maintenance and operation of building Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), low-pressure boilers and related equipment (i.e. centrifugal pumps, chemical pumps, pneumatics and control valves)
Experience in troubleshooting refrigeration systems
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of testing parameters for water treatment and determining corrective action
Knowledge to perform preventative maintenance in a safe manner
Knowledge of the basic components on a refrigeration system.
ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
Ability to communicate effectively orally
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of multiple certificates of qualification in the following trades: Operating Engineer Fourth Class (minimum), Electrician, Refrigeration Mechanic, Plumber, Pipefitter, or Industrial Mechanic- Millwright
Degree equivalency
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
OR1: Must be able to lift and carry 25kg while practicing proper safety procedures
OR2: Must be physically able to climb up and down a ladder
OR3: Must be able to work overtime as required
