The hospital’s RN residency program is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program and Pathway to Excellence, ensuring high-quality training for nurses. The Operating Room Tech will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse within the scope of practice in the surgery department. Responsible for the transporing of patients to and from the department. Responsible for collaborating with anesthesia staff and preparing operating room suites for procedures. Cross-trained to assist in turning over surgical suites, maintaining inventory, sterilizing equipment and providing routine maintenance on anesthesia machines. Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements: One year of experience in healthcare
Responsibilities
The Operating Room Tech works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to transport patients and prepare surgical suites. They also collaborate with anesthesia staff and assist with equipment maintenance and sterilization.
