You will own optical lab operation, glasses product safety validation, risk assessment, certification test and compliance testing for wearable, AR/VR glasses and accessories ecosystems. You will drive lab operations, test standards alignment, equipment management, global regulatory certification and cross-team alignment to uphold Apple’s rigorous safety standards. DESCRIPTION You are a disciplined, user-centric product safety & regulatory professional with glasses safety testing, optical standard expertise, and global eyewear certification capabilities. You own end-to-end optical safety testing, certification test execution, regulatory compliance, risk identification and continuous improvement for glasses products. You proactively drive test quality, lab operation efficiency, global certification delivery and cross-functional alignment. You thrive in a fast-paced hardware development cycle and bring deep experience in wearable glasses, AR/VR glasses testing and worldwide eyewear regulatory compliance. You balance strict compliance with practical engineering to deliver safe, certified products at scale. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS B.S or M.S. in Optical Engineering, or equivalent experience with strong optical testing engineering skills. Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in eyewear (glasses/AR/VR) testing, regulation certification testing and optical standards in consumer electronics. In-depth knowledge of eyewear industry certification standards and processes; familiarity with ISO/GB eyewear standards is required. Solid knowledge of optical test fundamentals, test standards, lab equipment operation and eyewear testing methodologies. Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, analyze and interpret test data independently. Track record of delivering accurate test reports and certification documentation on time with proactive issue resolution. Good command of English; able to read technical standards, interpret regulations and write professional test/certification reports. Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency in key optical & product safety standards: ISO12312-1, GB39552.1, GB/T 14214,ISO12870,ANSI Z80.3 etc. Experience with risk assessment methodology (FMEA, hazard analysis). Familiarity with FATP manufacture processes is a plus. Experience with global compliance certification and regulatory submission processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex optical safety systems. Experience with battery or power adapter safety testing is a plus.
