KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Operation Management
  • Oversee all plant functions including Production, Quality and Health and Safety;
  • Ensure production targets are met (volume, quality, lead time, cost);
  • Coordinate logistics of inbound raw lumber and outbound products;
  • Manage inventory and production scheduling.

    1. Team Leadership
  • Supervise, develop, and support a team of production workers, supervisors, maintenance staff, and support personnel (approx. 50 employees);

  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety and collaboration;
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and support training and skill development.

  1. Maintenance & Equipment
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of key equipment;
  • Manage maintenance budget and liaise with equipment vendors as needed.

    1. Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to product specifications;

  • Maintain certifications, traceability, and quality documentation;
  • Enforce environmental, health, and safety regulations in compliance with provincial and federal standards.

    1. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvements (efficiency, yield, waste reduction);

  • Monitor KPIs and plant metrics;
  • Participate in Groupe Lebel’s lean manufacturing and innovation initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience :

  • College diploma or university degree in industrial, mechanical, wood engineering, or equivalent field;
  • Minimum 5-7 years of supervisory or managerial experience in wood products manufacturing (treated wood preferred).

Skills & Competencies :

  • Proven leadership and team development abilities;
  • Strong knowledge of wood treatment processes and plant operations;
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making;
  • Proficient in production planning software, Excel and ERP systems;
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset, but not required.
