Background Amazon is enhancing its capabilities to source directly from the factories of its major vendors globally and establish its global supply chain to meet the customer demand and increasingly elections. This is enlarging the depth of the Amazon Supply Chain fundamentally. Along with the steady growth of EU and US, emerging countries like Middle East and Mexico are growing rapidly and getting more vendors to support Amazon business. As Operations Specialist you will implement supply chain and operational strategies to optimize retail vendor experience, enable business growth and drive cost reduction. You have end-to-end business ownership of direct import supply chain processes from manufacturer to the availability in our Fulfillment Centers for assigned destination countries. The role of the Operations Specialist will be working with retail vendors to ensure the smooth flow of goods (cost, time and visibility) to meet end customers' needs. This individual will partner with various teams across Amazon (Retail, Compliance, and other logistics teams etc.) as well as external partners to support critical new business initiatives and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of Direct Import program. The successful candidate is a problem solver, communicator who works well in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. This candidate demonstrates strong ownership with technical skill set, taking data-driven approach to solve complex problems across our Imports supply chain. The position provides opportunities to influence areas throughout the organization. Responsibilities: - Measure and improve vendor operations performance in logistics, reduce operations defects, and improve process to streamline operations between vendors and Amazon. - Drive root-cause analysis and reporting on operations issues, develop action plans and manage improvements. - Collaborate with internal logistics teams to achieve best-in-class delivery time performance. - Implement import ordering strategies for all import products to ensure Amazon meet the optimal mix of domestic and import sourcing. - Communicate clearly and professionally with senior leadership in reporting, delivering project updates, and handling escalations Key job responsibilities Deal with vendors and retail team escalations for responsible destination countries. Provide logistics solutions to key vendors. Identify process improvement opportunities and drive actions through collaboration with Amazon internal teams. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of program or project management experience - Bachelor's degree or equivalent - Experience in a highly analytical, results-oriented environment with cross functional interactions - 3+ years of industry work experience Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in MS Access and SQL - Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document - 3+ years of supply chain experience Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
