Work Shift Job Summary: The Operational Excellence Specialist facilitates process and performance improvement activities throughout the WMCG Enterprise. This role facilitates performance improvement projects that have been assigned by Operational Excellence management. These projects may focus on improvement in clinical outcomes, patient safety, cost reduction and efficiency, revenue cycle, clinical utilization and management, integrated growth and performance management, and patient/customer experience. Additionally, these projects may be focused on implementation of new and innovative ways to conduct business and processes. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Identifies, collects, analyzes, and summarizes data that relates to assigned process improvement projects and documents this information in the department project database. Gathers data through collection methods such as the functional Lean and Six Sigma tools and practices of Flowcharting/VSM, Brainstorm and Affinity Diagrams, Cause and Effect Diagrams and other tools commensurate with competency and training. Under moderate supervision, coordinates performance improvement events/projects by leading small teams in the use of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, tools, and other techniques to optimize processes, eliminate waste, improve quality, and reduce costs. Stays informed and competent in the most current approaches, methodologies, and evidence-based practice in the disciplines of Lean and Six Sigma, Project Management and how to apply these principals in a hospital/healthcare setting. Actively supports the Department of Operational Excellence in the development of relationships and strategies for collaboration with hospitals/health staff and patients to promote value-based care delivery. Supports a culture of Patient and Family Centered Care through projects and activities focused on the patient experience and is responsive to patients/families concerns and grievances as indicated. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education: Bachelors Public Health or Bachelors Business Administration/Management or Bachelors Nursing or Bachelors Information Technology or Bachelors Other Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. or CSSYB - Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt within 1 Year Additional License(s) and Certification(s): CSSYB- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Upon Hire Preferred Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years a healthcare or business setting with a focus on process and performance improvement and/or project management. Required or Minimum 4 years a healthcare or business setting with a focus on process and performance improvement and/or project management.
