PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Econometrics, or equivalent experience

Are you someone who is passionate about data, with superior analytical, data exploration, modeling and visualization skills, and more than 2 years of practical experience in analyzing business data? If so, consider applying your skills and experience to a data scientist position in the Canadian Shared Services team.
We are looking for someone to focus on forecasting demand, creating models, and analyzing data to determine and plan for optimal resourcing. In this role, you will dig deep into business data to generate insight and recommendations based on your findings and communicate those with senior leaders and other stakeholders. The role requires creative problem-solving ability, teamwork, excellent communication and presentation skills, a willingness to try new techniques, and the ability to handle several diverse and concurrent projects. The results of your work will be used for operational decision making identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Investigate business processes and design, maintain, and refine models of business workflow
  • Measure and forecast demand for several diverse business units
  • Calculate optimal staffing levels
  • Collect, manipulate, and analyze data related to capacity, supply, and demand
  • Maintain and measure resourcing forecast and capacity models
  • Work within a team to provide analysis, insights and recommendations to senior business leaders to help them recognize areas of opportunity and drive evidence-based operational decisions
  • Formally apply statistical / scientific rigour to analysis of data
  • Look for ways to innovate and improve processes in a Continuous Improvement environment
