Responsibilities

We’re seeking a full-time operational pharmacist to join our team at Slade Pharmacy Frankston, located within the Frankston Public Surgical Centre. In this role, you’ll provide clinical pharmacy services to a diverse patient group, including surgical inpatients, outpatients, and those receiving post-operative or IVF care. You’ll also support medication supply to Peninsula Health and a local mental health facility.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include dispensing medications, preparing discharge profiles, counselling patients, and collaborating with hospital staff to ensure safe and effective medication use. This is a non-patient-facing, office-based role that offers valuable exposure to hospital pharmacy operations in a supportive and structured environment.
Ideal for early career pharmacists, this role offers hands-on experience, professional development, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care.
Roster:
This is a permanent full-time position, working Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be rostered across weekdays in alignment with operational needs and site coverage requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Create and provide medication profiles to patients on discharge
  • Counsel hospital patients on discharge medications
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
  • Support patients, carers, and hospital staff through the patient journey
  • Educate and advise staff and patients on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines
