Job Title Operational Planner/Buyer Job Description As a Material Planner & Buyer, you will ensure smooth material availability by managing inventory, maintaining supply chain master data, partnering with suppliers, and supporting production planning. You’ll play a key role in optimizing stock levels, executing purchase orders, maintaining data accuracy in ERP systems, and driving continuous improvement in supply chain operations. Your role: Inventory & Master Data Management Conduct regular inventory analysis and maintain accurate supply chain master data in ERP systems. Implement stock and replenishment policies, monitor item changes, and manage supplier‑managed/owned inventory. Run simulations to define optimal safety stocks and lot-sizing parameters, considering trends and seasonality. Order & Supplier Management Create and manage Purchase Orders, ensuring timely delivery, correct quality, and adherence to commercial terms. Track order confirmations, manage open orders, and expedite when required. Resolve moderate PO issues and consolidate orders for efficiency. Monitor consignment stock and perform regular stock takes (including vendor‑managed and repair/rework materials). Forecasting & Planning Alignment Communicate and validate forecasts with suppliers to ensure material availability. Collaborate closely with production planning through S&OP meetings to maintain balance between supply and demand. Conduct supply availability checks and align replenishment plans with suppliers. Product Lifecycle & Change Management Support new product introduction and product lifecycle activities by maintaining accurate replenishment-related master data. Participate in packaging instruction creation and manage shelf-life master data. Contribute to industrialization phase by ensuring materials are ready for production ramp-up. Performance, Risk & Continuous Improvement Monitor OMM KPIs, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies across suppliers. Drive improvement actions and track progress using analytical tools. Escalate supply risks when needed and support n‑tier supplier network efficiency initiatives. You're the right fit if you have: Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field. 5–10 years of experience in material planning, buying, or supply chain operations (manufacturing environment preferred). Technical Skills Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MRP processes. Experience in inventory planning, safety stock management, and purchase order processing. Solid understanding of supplier management and supply chain data structures. Ability to analyze data, track KPIs, and drive corrective actions. Core Competencies Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with production, suppliers, and planning teams. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks. Proactive mindset with continuous improvement focus. Nice-to-Have Experience with O9 or similar planning tools. Knowledge of electro-mechanical components. Experience in consignment stock and vendor-managed inventory.
