Description
At IAG, we’re ready for you. We're the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand. Our family of brands turns the IAG purpose of making your world a safer place into action by helping everyday Aussies and New Zealanders, supporting their ambitions and making insurance accessible. Step into a role where your expertise shapes how we protect IAG and support resilience across the business. This is an opportunity to guide the design and evolution of our Operational Risk and Resilience frameworks, ensuring they stay practical, future‑ready and aligned to regulatory expectations. You’ll work with passionate risk professionals, bring clarity to complex requirements and help uplift operational resilience maturity across the Group. If you enjoy translating regulation into meaningful action, partnering with senior leaders and strengthening how an organisation works end‑to‑end, this role offers real impact. This is a max-term full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane). What You'll Do • Lead the development, enhancement and maintenance of Group operational resilience frameworks, policies and standards. • Identify impacts of regulatory and industry changes and recommend updates to ensure alignment with APRA standards and broader best practice. • Partner with stakeholders to coordinate workshops, gather feedback and deliver ecosystem improvements that balance compliance and business need. • Guide and coach a small team responsible for control improvement, operational risk dashboard reporting and data insights across the Group. • Support strategic programs by providing clear advice, communications and education on changes to the Operational Risk and Resilience ecosystem. • Oversee governance forums that raise awareness, track issues and support uplift in operational resilience capability. • Lead assurance activities to test the effectiveness of operational risk frameworks and standards. What You'll Bring • Experience in policy writing or framework development within financial services, ideally within APRA‑regulated environments. • Strong understanding of operational risk principles, regulatory guides and resilience frameworks. • Ability to simplify complex regulation, influence stakeholders and tell a compelling “why” behind policy changes. • Experience with planning work, managing priorities and delegating effectively, with or without formal leadership experience. • Comfort working with operational data, dashboards or technology tools such as ServiceNow. • A curious mindset and ability to use AI or new technology to improve frameworks, processes and how they enhance the customer experience. • Background in insurance, banking or superannuation, with exposure to operational risk policy frameworks highly regarded. What We Offer • Boosted superannuation with 13% as standard. • 20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what’s important to you). • Work from home and many more flexibility options with myFlex. • Up to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor insurance. • Partner discounts on private health insurance, tech & appliances, and many more. • Access to LinkedIn Learning, the award-winning IAG Academy, study assistance and secondment opportunities. *employment type eligibility criteria apply Applications close: Monday 23 March 2026 11:59PM AEDT Adjustments and Support If you require any support or adjustments to participate equitably in our recruitment process, we encourage you to reach out to recruitment@iag.com.au for a confidential conversation.
