At Summit Solutions Group (SSG), we are the mission support arm of the Summit Point Training Facility. As a dedicated US Government contractor, we specialize in delivering comprehensive solutions that ensure operational excellence and mission success. WHAT YOU’LL DO The Operational Support Specialist will provide critical expertise and coordination in support of the Special Programs Project Manager for the establishment and activation of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert with deep operational knowledge gained from over 20 years of experience in correctional and detention facility management. The position will ensure all operational processes, staffing models, and facility systems align with ICE Detention Standards (PBNDS/NDS) and meet federal, state, and local compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for: Assist in the design and implementation of detention facility operational systems, including intake, housing, security, medical, food service, and transportation. Review and advise on all operational plans, policies, and SOPs to ensure full compliance with ICE standards, PREA, and applicable correctional regulations. Work closely with the Special Programs Project Manager to integrate operational requirements into construction, IT, and support infrastructure planning. Provide guidance on staffing models, training curricula, and operational readiness for facility activation and inspections. Support coordination efforts with ICE, DHS, local law enforcement, and other partners to ensure operational preparedness and information flow. Prepare and participate in facility readiness assessments, mock audits, and official inspections by government oversight entities. Develop, review, and maintain operational documentation including SOPs, staffing plans, inspection reports, and compliance records. Identify gaps and recommend corrective actions to ensure best practices in facility management, safety, and efficiency. Requirements Job Requirements and Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Minimum 20 years of experience in correctional facility operations, detention management, or law enforcement. Demonstrated expertise with ICE Detention Standards (PBNDS/NDS) and related compliance frameworks. Proven ability to design and implement operational procedures and training programs in secure environments. Strong understanding of facility logistics, inmate management, emergency response, and accreditation processes. Excellent communication and coordination skills with diverse government and contractor stakeholders. Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working directly with detention contracts. Certifications in correctional management, safety, or emergency operations. Experience contributing to new facility activations or major operational transitions.
