CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., ISA CAP, PMP) an asset.
  • Experience: 8–10+ years in manufacturing systems, including 5+ years in senior OT/IT leadership. Strong background in SCADA, Ignition, PLCs, HMIs, and ERP integration (Syspro or similar). Chocolate, confectionery, or high-speed food production experience strongly preferred; CPG or pharmaceutical backgrounds considered.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Skilled at leading cross-functional projects, partnering with plant leaders and analysts, and translating technical insights into business impact.
  • Communication: Fluent in English, with strong executive-level communication and presentation skills.
  • Professional Attributes: Disciplined, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with proven success delivering complex automation and integration projects.
  • Location & Travel: U.S.-based (preferably Rockwall, Texas) with ability to travel frequently to Delta (Vancouver) and Indianapolis. Immediate availability preferred.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

The Operational Technology and Information Technology (OT/IT) Manager & Technical Systems Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital and automation backbone of our manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of automation, SCADA, Ignition, and ERP integration systems across our facilities. Acting as the technical bridge between operations and data, the OT/IT Manager will ensure that plant connectivity, system reliability, and real-time data visibility enable disciplined, best-in-class execution.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Plant Manager and Data Analyst to build an integrated, data-driven environment that supports productivity, safety, and quality. They will be expected to establish scalable technical standards that not only serve immediate needs but also position the company for long-term growth across a multi-facility platform. This role is critical to unifying operations at our Delta, BC; Rockwall, TX; and Indianapolis, IN plants into a single world-class manufacturing network. This role will require extensive travel during the 1st year between Rockwall, Indianapolis, and Vancouver, Canada.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and standardization of SCADA and Ignition systems across facilities.
  • Drive integration of automation platforms with Syspro ERP and other key operational systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and set standards for plant interconnectivity, ensuring seamless data flow and reliability.
  • Partner with the Data Analyst and Plant Manager to deliver actionable, real-time operational insights that support executive decision-making.
  • Develop and enforce long-term technical standards and infrastructure strategies to ensure scalability and sustainability.
  • Champion the use of automation and technology to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality across all sites.
