Description

Garver is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Analyst in Fayetteville, Arkansas to join our Water Design Center (WDC). This individual would work directly with the Cybersecurity Team Leader on cybersecurity projects for city and municipal clients to help secure their OT and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks for drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities and processes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates must be pursuing or have obtained a Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Networking Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering degree OR 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of PLC and HMI programming software
  • Working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment OT/SCADA systems
  • Certification in cybersecurity such as CompTIA Security+, ISA62443, CISSP, GICSP, OSCP, or related certificates.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing in IT or OT environments
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, IDS, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Conduct cybersecurity risk and vulnerability assessments for clients, including field surveys, network scans, and personnel interviews. Analyze findings to develop practical recommendations and prepare clear, comprehensive reports summarizing system observations and proposed improvements.
  • Perform network and vulnerability scans in the field to identify hosts, analyze traffic patterns, and detect vulnerabilities or potential exploits. Document findings, evaluate their impact on system security, and contribute to clear reports and recommendations for clients.
  • Evaluate existing SCADA network architectures to identify key areas of risk and develop improvement recommendations, ensuring that proposed changes align with best practices while remaining mindful of budget constraints.
  • Contribute to the design of new SCADA networks for water utility projects, focusing on sound network engineering and best cybersecurity practices.
