SUMMARY:

Reporting to the VP Finance & Corporate Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operational finance group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a small team of operational accountants and play a key role in the growth of an emerging fuel supply service company. This position is well suited for an individual that enjoys a fast paced, hands-on environment with a requirement for process innovation to sustain growth demands. The position is based in the Calgary corporate office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Certarus’ operational accounting team responsible for accurate/timely invoicing, job performance analysis and reporting
  • Examine and review job performance reports to ensure costs are accurately allocated to jobs and communicate any anomalies
  • Participate in regular monthly job reviews and partner with sales and operations to optimize contract terms and job execution requirements
  • In partnership with the VP Finance & Corporate Controller, act as an internal operational consultant to different areas of the business in order to advise on the financial impact of decisions and assist users in interpreting and understanding the results. Prepare supplementary operational reports to assist Regional Managers in evaluating the performance of their area
  • Analyze and update standard costing inputs for monthly job allocations
  • Manage the month end revenue accrual process
  • Be a part of Certarus’ drive for process innovation - Develop new processes and systems to support the timeliness of invoicing and operational reporting
  • Provide support for the operational forecasting process and assist in the preparation of the annual budget as required
  • Build effective partnerships throughout the organization
  • Provide training and coaching to the team
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for operational information
  • Support the annual audit process as required
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the enterprise by performing other duties as required
