Description
ABOUT US Indie Campers is a global leader in road trip travel, operating one of the largest campervan and RV fleets in the world. We offer thousands of customers the freedom to explore new destinations in fully equipped vehicles, combining great customer service with operational excellence. Our frontline teams are essential to ensuring every customer has a smooth experience and every vehicle is clean, safe, well-prepared, and ready for the road. THE ROLE The Operations Agent is a hands-on operational role that combines customer-facing rental service, vehicle preparation, fleet cleaning, and basic sales support. You will support the full customer journey, from preparing and cleaning campervans before departure, to conducting check-ins and check-outs, assisting customers during their rental, and supporting RV sales demonstrations when needed. This role is ideal for someone practical, customer-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced depot environment. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON? Customer Service & Rental Operations: conduct check-ins and check-outs, provide vehicle briefings, support customers during their rental journey, and handle service recovery or emergencies with professionalism and empathy. Fleet Cleaning & Vehicle Preparation: clean vehicle interiors and exteriors, prepare campervans with kits, bedding, essentials, and optional extras, ensuring every vehicle meets Indie Campers’ quality, hygiene, and presentation standards. Post-Return Inspection & Reporting: inspect returned vehicles for cleanliness, missing items, damages, or operational issues, and report them for follow-up. Sales Demonstrations & Customer Engagement: support RV demos by presenting vehicle features, systems, and specifications, helping customers understand the product and supporting smooth handovers. Sales Conversion & Lead Support: identify potential sales opportunities, support lead follow-up when relevant, and assist the RV Sales team with customer information and documentation. Stock, Consumables & Depot Organisation: manage cleaning supplies, kits, consumables, and equipment, report shortages or damages, and help keep the depot organised and ready for daily operations. Basic Product & Technical Support: explain basic vehicle systems such as lighting, gas, water, and other RV features, troubleshoot simple issues, and escalate when needed. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Must have: Experience in customer service, hospitality, sales, rental, cleaning, housekeeping, warehouse, automotive, or operations environments. Strong communication and customer engagement skills. High attention to detail and commitment to hygiene, quality, and presentation standards. Hands-on, reliable, punctual, and solution-oriented mindset. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment. Ability to understand and explain basic vehicle or RV systems. Organised and proactive approach to managing customers, tasks, and operational priorities. Driving License, Category B. English proficiency. Nice to have: Experience with CRM tools, rental systems, or digital sales software. Local language proficiency, such as Spanish, where applicable. Previous experience in campervan, RV, automotive, tourism, or mobility environments. PHYSICAL AND OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS This role requires physical activity and flexibility in a depot environment. You must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stretch, and move around the depot for extended periods, as well as work inside vehicles and outdoors in different weather conditions. You should be comfortable lifting and carrying light to moderate items up to 15 kg, including kits, cleaning equipment, consumables, hoses, and supplies. You will also use cleaning products and chemicals safely, following company safety guidelines and training. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, peak-season schedules, and adapt to urgent operational needs such as last-minute turnarounds, additional cleaning tasks, or high-volume customer periods. You should also be comfortable interacting with customers in different emotional states, including excited, stressed, or confused customers, while remaining calm, empathetic, and professional. THE INDIE COMMITMENT Competitive compensation and commission opportunities. Travel benefits and access to the Indie Campers rental fleet. Training in customer service, sales, cleaning standards, product knowledge, RV systems, and operational excellence. Career growth across Rental, Sales, Operations, Servicing, or other depot roles. A dynamic, multicultural workplace with a strong team spirit. Are you Ready to Go Indie?
