The Center for Career and Professional Development at our Daytona Beach Campus is currently recruiting for an Operations and Events Coordinator to manage the front office, oversee student employees, and take the lead role in coordinating the fall and spring Industry/Career Expo events. Reporting to the Executive Director in The Center for Career and Professional Development, the Operations and Events Coordinator is responsible for the following:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides operational support to The Center for Career and Professional Development, overseeing the Career Peer team that manages front desk coverage.
  • Engages students, employers, faculty, and staff who visit The Center for Career and Professional Development, ensuring a welcoming and resourceful environment.
  • Leads logistical planning, direct support, and execution for recruitment events, including space reservation, catering coordination, distribution of maps and parking passes, and other event-related needs.
  • Plays a critical role in overseeing student employees in the office, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, approving timecards, and fostering team engagement.
  • Maintains supplies for office operations, event support, refreshments for visitors, and other necessary purchases.
  • Represents The Center for Career and Professional Development on campus committees and may act as a liaison for visitors and other campus constituents.
  • Serves as the primary contact for event logistics and coordination of the fall and spring Industry/Career Expo events under the direction of the Executive Director.
  • Manages employer registrations and sponsorships received through Handshake for the Industry/Career Expo, ensuring proper processing of employer profiles.
  • Collaborates with the Controller’s Office to monitor and process Industry/Career Expo payments, submitting weekly tracking reports.
  • Supports the Executive Director with compiling reports, goal tracking, and special projects as needed.
  • Oversees the visual appearance of reception areas, student resume centers, and the guest kitchen space.
  • Maintains an SOP guidebook for office operations, ensuring student staff implement procedures effectively.
  • Handles departmental correspondence, mailings, and other key communications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets and CRMs
  • Professional demeanor with above-average written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and contribute in a team environment
  • Budget and requisition experience ideal
  • Knowledge of Workday preferred
  • Minimum of two years of office experience preferred
