Role: Operations and Logistics Assistant
Location: San Diego, CA (in-office)
Salary: $70,000-$85,000 / yr + stock options, 401k matching, relocation assistance within the U.S. (if applicable), and other benefits.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We’re building autonomous surface vehicles at lightning pace and deploying them to customers and events all over the world. We want to make sure all these operations are executed smoothly, so we’re seeking an Operations and Logistics Assistant to support our Engineering Program Manager and Customer Success Manager. This person will prepare for trainings and travel, arrange pickups and drop-offs, assist in packing and documenting shipments, research import / export regulations, and more. In short, they’ll do whatever’s necessary (and legal) to make their teammates’ lives easier and our customers happier.

ROLE DETAILS

In this role, you’ll interface with project managers, vessel operators, engineers, shippers, and customers. If coordinating flights and gathering boat components for a training sounds interesting, you might be a good fit. If spending two hours on the phone with another country’s import authority makes you want to flip your desk, you might not be a good fit.
Some specific things you could work on include:

Logistics Coordination

  • Scheduling and tracking incoming and outgoing shipments, including parts, tools, and finished products.
  • Preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and hazardous goods paperwork (when required).
  • Coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely delivery.

Operational Support

  • Assisting with procurement activities such as requesting quotes, placing purchase orders, and tracking deliveries.
  • Supporting special projects, such as facility upgrades, furniture builds, equipment moves, or process improvements.

Customer Support

  • Packing and shipping components to customers to ensure their mission success
  • Organizing customer training events at Seasats HQ, ensuring the classroom is equipped and instructors and students have the needed materials

Travel Coordination

  • Handling travel logistics for our vehicle operators, including booking flights, hotels, and transportation, and ensuring that travel is well-planned and efficient

Project Support

  • Assisting the Project Manager to create and update project documentation

Ad Hoc

  • Assisting with various ad hoc tasks and projects as needed to ensure the overall success of the company
