Description
Compliance and Partnerships Lead About Slash Slash is building the future of business banking, one industry at a time. We believe businesses deserve financial infrastructure tailored to how they actually operate. We combine the reliability of traditional banking with industry-specific software that make businesses more efficient, competitive, and profitable. We've raised $60m, we power over 7 billion dollars a year in business purchasing across numerous industries, and are backed by Menlo Ventures, NEA, Y Combinator, Stanford University, and the founders of Tinder and Plaid. Slash is headquartered in San Francisco and New York. The Role We’re hiring an Operations and Partnerships Lead to own relationships with our bank partners and card networks, while designing and running the operationally complex, compliance-driven processes that keep Slash running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building from scratch, brings relentless organization, and can turn a scrappy back office into a finely tuned machine. What You’ll Do: Own critical external relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for our bank partners and card networks, translating their requirements into operational playbooks that keep Slash ahead of the curve. Design and scale complex systems: Architect and oversee processes across credit risk, onboarding (CIP, CDD, EDD), ACH and payment rails, OFAC checks, fraud monitoring, disputes, and more — the core machinery that underpins a regulated fintech. Manage operational risk: Build and enforce frameworks for credit risk changes, high-decline/high-refund monitoring, delinquent accounts, and disputes — ensuring stability while enabling growth. Interface with leadership and regulators: Translate operational detail into executive- and board-level reporting, ensuring clarity on risk exposure, compliance posture, and partnership performance. Build from 0 → 1: Take a fragmented set of policies and procedures and evolve them into a cohesive operating model that can support billions in payment volume and new product launches. Develop talent & tooling: Mentor compliance analysts, coordinate with engineering to build automation into procedures, and ensure the back office runs like a high-performance machine. Who You Are: Have 3-8 years experience, in consulting, IB, PE, VC, or in Business Operations, Product Management, Chief of Staff, or similar roles at another startup. A desired career trajectory towards Founder, COO, or GM Comfortable diving into new domains quickly, learning the regulatory/compliance context on the job, and making sound judgment calls in unfamiliar territory Excellent communicator who can work cross-functionally with legal, product, and leadership teams Data-driven and structured; comfortable with analytics tools (Retool, SQL, or willingness to learn) What's in it for You: You’ll run the core engine of a high-growth fintech: The procedures you oversee are the actual levers that keep $10B+ in payments moving — from fraud defenses to ACH rails to treasury onboarding. You’ll sit at the intersection of finance and technology: Directly manage bank and network partnerships while working hand-in-hand with engineers to embed automation into compliance-heavy workflows. You’ll own systems that are usually hidden: At most firms, these are black-box “ops” processes; here, you’ll architect them yourself and see the impact every day. You’ll build enduring infrastructure: What you design today becomes the regulatory and operational foundation that scales Slash from startup → category leader. You’ll get outsized visibility: Work directly with the CEO, General Counsel, and bank partners — a front-row seat to how fintech infrastructure is actually built. Competitive pay + equity package Unlimited PTO, Health, Vision, and Dental coverage
