We are a newly established contract manufacturing facility specialising in the custom formulation and contract manufacturing of supplements and nutraceuticals. We help entrepreneurs and health brands bring high-quality products to market. Our focus is on delivering high-quality, custom-manufactured health and wellness solutions, backed by scientific expertise, robust quality control, and regulatory compliance.
As we commence operations, we are seeking a motivated Operations and Production Specialist on a part-time basis with a clear path to full-time production once operations ramp up. You will take ownership of day-to-day operations and activities across manufacturing, client coordination, project management, quality assurrance and operational logistics. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping our processes and contributing to the success of a fast-growing business.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS (SELECTION CRITERIA TO ADDRESS)

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 2+ years hands-on experience in food, supplements, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Extensive experience handling production operations, including ingredient preparation, formulation, equipment operation, and product packaging.
  • Ability to provide accurate unit costings (cost of goods - COGs) for each manufactured product by assessing raw material, labour, packaging, and operational inputs.
  • Strong experience in client and vendor relationship management, including interpreting client briefs and translating them into production plans.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven project management ability from concept to delivery, including formulation costing, scheduling, resource allocation, and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality standards.
  • Competence in managing batch production records (BPRs), cleaning logs, and stock registers.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and regulatory compliance relevant to supplements and nutraceuticals.
  • Basic inventory management and procurement skills to ensure raw material availability and cost control.
  • Ability to prepare or contribute to SOPs, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office or ERP/MRP software for tracking operations, stock, and projects.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt in a growing start-up environment, with a willingness to take on varied responsibilities.

Responsibilities

This is a hands-on and multi-functional role that requires working under little or no supervision. You will be responsible for supporting and executing the entire product lifecycle. You’ll be part of a lean, dynamic team helping new health brands bring their products to life.

  • Operate and maintain production equipment (mixing, filling, packaging and sealing).
  • Assist with raw material handling, weighing, and documentation.
  • Support compliance with food safety and quality requirements.
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Work closely with management to scale operations and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Ensure hygiene standards, and process validations are maintained
  • Prepare standard operating procedures for equipment and processes
  • Complete and maintain batch production records (BPRs), cleaning logs, and stock registers
  • Support HACCP, and food safety compliance
  • Handle packaging operations and coordinate logistics and product dispatch
  • Client and vendor relationship management, including communication with raw material suppliers and service providers for ingredient and consumable sourcing.
  • Manage project timelines, and operational logistics
  • Other activities as directed by the management.
