Responsibilities

This role will provide administrative support to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate information to racing industry participants and the public. This role will be 38 hours per week.

Major duties include:

  • Assist in activities relating to handicapping and grading matters including verification of eligibility status and accurate completion of race field requirements.
  • Assist in activities relating to licensing and registration matters including verification of compliance status and accurate assessment of licensing and registration applications.
  • Process and distribute race meetings, licensing and registration documentation and associated information using various forms of media. Maintain accurate and consistent filing of hardcopy and electronic documents. Process results of harness and greyhound race meetings.
  • Maintain and interrogate racing industry databases, information systems and records to produce quality reports. Compile and maintain statistical information.
  • Prepare correspondence, transcripts, reports and documents, and update the Division’s website as required.
  • Act as first point of contact for the Office of Racing Integrity. Initiate and respond in a timely and appropriate manner to face to face, telephone, email and written enquiries, including referrals to appropriate divisional officers, receipting and reconciliation of monies.
  • Provide out of hours scratching and race field update service to the Division.
  • Perform any other assigned duties at the classification level that are within the employee’s competence and training.
