This is a physically demanding role

  • Make sure that the correct procedures are implemented for receiving and storing stock;
  • Ensure that the correct procedures are implemented for picking stock and maintaining a high standard of presentation;
  • Ensure that stock and equipment are in the right location at the right time;
  • Make sure that stock is displayed for purchase and that customers know what products and services are on offer;
  • Make sure that customers can pay quickly and easily and leave the store feeling positive.

  • General education;
  • Current First Aid at Work Certificate (Preferred);

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide courteous and efficient service to the customer;
  • Handle customer refunds/ queries and complaints efficiently via email or phone;
  • Provide the customer with up-to-date knowledge of products and services;
  • Able to communicate clearly and confidential with colleagues, management and contractors;
  • Receive deliveries and check them against delivery documentation;
  • Select and prepare stock from the stockroom area and deliver to the sales floor and other areas including date rotation;
  • Construct and put up sales floor equipment e.g. shelves, counters, till points;
  • Ensure that stock is picked correctly maintaining a high standard of presentation;
  • Complete administration documentation accurately e.g. ordering sheets;
  • Ensure that the correct procedures are implemented for dealing with damaged stock;
  • Maintain high standards of warehouse hygiene;
  • Ensure rubbish and ‘waste’ is removed from the store and warehouse;
  • Adhere to health & safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment;
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures;
  • Watch out for theft, fraudulent methods of payment and deceitful purchases;
  • Assist with the training and development of new staff;
  • Support and help colleagues with their work and get behind company initiatives as and when they arise;
  • As necessary, work out of the role to meet customer and business needs.
