About the role Safely prepare and set up operating theatres, positioning equipment, and specialty surgical items in accordance with daily operating lists and clinical direction. Assist with patient transfers, lifting, positioning, and perioperative support (including tourniquets and skin preparation) while adhering to manual handling and safety protocols. Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and specialty items across hospital departments as directed, always ensuring respectful and professional care. Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment through terminal cleaning, infection prevention practices, waste disposal, and equipment maintenance (including gas cylinders and lead aprons). Provide support across specialty areas including Perioperative Services, Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, and Day Procedure Unit. Assist with sensitive duties including the preparation and transfer of deceased patients, and provide broader hospital support during night shift as required. About you Experience in patient support services or hospital operations within a large or complex healthcare environment, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Strong written and verbal communication skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to accurately follow instructions and document tasks. Sound knowledge of safe manual handling techniques and infection prevention and control principles, with a consistent commitment to workplace health and safety. Physically capable of undertaking manual duties including lifting, transferring patients, moving equipment, restocking supplies, and cleaning. Flexible and reliable, with availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster (including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts) and a commitment to ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
