This position reports to the (Head of Venture (TakealotNOW) Your responsibilities will include: Operational Support and Efficiency: Assist in managing day-to-day operations across various business verticals within TakealotNOW, contributing to smooth and efficient trade operations. Participate in the implementation and refinement of operational processes to boost trading efficiency on the TakealotNOW platform. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational processes, using data to inform and guide decisions. Data Analysis and Reporting: Assist in the analysis of operational data to generate insights aimed at improving customer experience and operational workflows. Support in collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Teamwork and Development: Help manage and resolve payment transaction issues, contributing to a seamless customer transaction process. Assist in the investigation of order discrepancies and compile reports on operational challenges and customer feedback. Support the mentorship and development of junior operations team members, promoting a culture of growth and learning. Emergency Management: Proactively manage operational emergencies and system failures, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. This includes being prepared to address emergencies during business hours after 5pm and during weekends, ensuring round-the-clock operational resilience. Outputs: Operational efficiency improvements across business verticals. Data-driven insights for customer experience enhancement. Process implementation and refinement deliverables. Payment transaction resolution reports. Order discrepancy investigation reports. Junior team member development progress. Emergency response and resolution documentation. Qualification & Experience: Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Engineering, Finance or related field. At least 3 years of experience in operations, particularly in e-commerce, logistics, supply chain, or a related fast- paced industry. Experience in using data analytics to inform operational decisions and improvements. Proficiency in analysing performance metrics to provide insights on operational aspects. Proficiency in advanced Excel. Knowledge of SQL or Python is advantageous. Attributes Required: Ability to identify areas of improvement, indicating a proactive stance towards enhancing processes and outcomes. Strong analytical ability supported by solid Excel skills, showcasing the capability to dissect data and derive meaningful insights. Enterprising spirit and ability to take ownership of tasks, reflecting a drive to innovate and lead initiatives. Willingness to buy into the requirements of a fast-paced start-up environment, with an understanding that peak activity may occur after traditional hours, highlighting flexibility and dedication. Ability to verbalize as well as visualize findings and results, emphasizing the importance of clear and effective communication, both verbally and through visual means.
