OPERATIONS CONTROLLER – TRANSPORT, COURIER & LOGISTICS

Location: Luton
Salary: £34,000 per annum
Shifts: Days – 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shifts

ABOUT US

At National Sameday, we deliver customer-focused logistics solutions across the UK, specialising in Same Day and Next Day airside deliveries, as well as storage and warehousing for key airlines at major UK airports. We are now looking for an Operations Controller to join our team and support the smooth running of our transport and logistics operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a courier, logistics, or transport role.
  • Proven experience managing delivery performance and route optimisation.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics principles, dispatch procedures, and courier systems/software.
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive, problem-solving approach.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and logistics platforms.
  • Valid full UK manual driving licence.
Responsibilities
  • Operational Coordination: Oversee and coordinate daily transport operations, including staff scheduling, route planning, and driver dispatch.
  • Customer Service: Handle customer queries and complaints, ensuring a professional and positive experience.
  • Delivery Monitoring: Track and confirm collections and deliveries using our in-house platform, ensuring targets are met.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication across shifts to ensure all teams are up to date with resource and transport plans.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in identifying ways to improve processes, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with management, customers, suppliers, and sites.
