OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The Operations coordinator is responsible for handling important client accounts daily operations. The individual must build and maintain a strong relationship with the client. They will be the main point of contact for operational matters, anticipate the customers needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines for customer are met, and help the client succeed.

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:

  • 3-5 years of experience in domestic and international logistics
  • Experience with FTL, LTL, warehousing, customs
  • The ideal candidate would have a background in operations
  • Able to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently
  • Goal-oriented, organised team player
  • Basic computer skills, and the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people person.

Responsibilities
  • Daily management and coordination of shipments with warehouse
  • Set up and monitor shipments from initiation, execution, and billing.
  • When working with sub-contractors (i.e. hauliers), ensure rates are in line with expected margins
  • Monitor all haulier performance and provide feedback to carriers/management.
  • Participate in meetings with hauliers and customers as necessary.
  • Perform assigned functions in the transportation field, consistent with regulations, standards, established policies, and business requirements.
