Description

As agents of the Presiding Bishopric of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Communication and Publishing Department (CPD) produces materials and messages that invite all God’s children to follow Jesus Christ. This role coordinates operations across CPD divisions, including publishing, A/V production, broadcasts, public affairs, product management, and language localisation. The operations coordinator manages budgets, financial transactions, timelines, production standards, and quality assurance. They work with project teams, stakeholders, project managers, and volunteers, reporting to the Area Communication and Publishing Director.

  • Oversees cross-divisional coordination of publishing projects and communication campaigns.
  • Builds relationships with division managers within CPD and across departments.
  • Assists with presentations, database management, and training events, performing quality checks and providing feedback.
  • Manages requests from area departments and communication volunteers, coordinating operational processes.
  • Handles financial processes for vendor payments and volunteer reimbursements.
  • Monitors and improves operational procedures, using software to control deliverables and address issues.
  • Facilitates production logistics, including communications, file handoffs, and systems access.
  • Supports management with financial queries, performance reports, presentations, event management, project documentation, and other tasks.
  • Assists the publishing team with digital channel management.
  • Coordinates leadership or priesthood requests for public affairs, communication, and publishing matters.
Responsibilities

  • BA in business management or communications or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in Operations, Production, Marketing, or Communications.
  • Proficient in English, with excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional messaging under pressure.
  • Proficient in Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Tableau, Workfront, Copilot, etc.
  • Customer service-oriented with problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective at prioritising and managing multiple assignments.
  • Knowledge of Church policies, procedures, and doctrines.
  • Familiarity with Church organisation, priesthood governance, and event planning.
