POSITION SUMMARY
Salary: $51,700 - $63,200 annually depending on experience. MSU Benefits - Free comprehensive health care for you and your family as well as a 10% contribution toward your retirement; Generous sick, vacation, personal and holiday time; Not eligible to work a partial remote schedule. Regular attendance is required to meet business and customer needs.
This position will support the Business Manager, Operations Manager, and Collections Supervisor in the daily coordination and management of operational activities. It involves identifying and resolving operational issues while ensuring delivery of service aligns with department values, mission, and strategic objectives. The role assists with policies and procedures, as well as developing and coordinating training for Collections staff, maintenance management and scheduling. Additionally, this position will develop reports and service level agreements.
The job responsibilities are as follows:
40%: Supports the Business Manager, Operations Manager, and Collections Supervisor in the daily coordination and management of operational activities. Ensures service delivery aligns with departmental values, mission, and strategic objectives. Identifies and resolves operational issues promptly and contributes to continuous improvement by evaluating performance and recommending strategic enhancements.
20%: Assists with the development, documentation, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures. Coordinates and creates training programs and materials within SSRC’s Learning Management System. Maintains compliance with University, State, and Federal health and safety standards.
20%: Manages and schedules maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles, equipment, and containers. Develops procurement specifications and prepares financial and utilization reports. Oversees inventory and coordinates the procurement of collection supplies, PPE, and tools.
20%: Acts as a liaison with University departments and contractors to develop service level agreements, provide waste and recycling data reports, resolve invoice discrepancies, and support project planning and budgeting. Ensures operations meet customer expectations and departmental goals. Maintains active communication with the Sales team to align operational efforts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate’s degree with coursework in a field related to reuse, recycling, sustainability, or waste management; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in the area of collections, reuse, recycling, sustainability, or waste management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator’s license will be required for this position. Must drive University vehicle to perform the duties of this classification and meet the Universities rigorous safe driving standards.
