JOB DESCRIPTION:

Courier drivers are responsible for safely transporting road freight using the most cost-effective route while providing exceptional customer service.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a similar role
  • Valid driver’s license for a two-axle rigid vehicle
  • Good driving record
  • Proficiency in operating various loading equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Physical stamina

Responsibilities
  • Carry out delivery and pickup across metropolitan and regional areas.
  • Organise outbound freight by planning route schedules and inspecting packages and validating package labels.
  • Record and notify management of any faulty packaging or damaged items
  • Utilise appropriate equipment to load and unload vehicles.
  • Safeguard freight to prevent movement during transit.
  • Adhere to punctual completion of runs.
  • Obtain recipient signature
  • Deliver superior customer service during all interactions.
  • Ensure proper handling and security measures for all packages.
  • Address delivery challenges, such as damaged items or inaccessible delivery locations.
