CONNECTING YOU TO DATABASE ADMINISTRATION JOBS IN CALGARY, ALBERTA!

About Staffing® is an Alberta-based recruitment company that connects jobseekers to employers across Canada. Established in 1996, About Staffing is a proud BBB Accredited business.
We have partnered with a Canadian based organization designed to support those in the energy sector. This non-profit is seeking an Operations Specialist (Operations & Database Administrator) to join their team.
Job ID: 42932
Job Type: Direct Hire
Category: Administration – Database
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Our downtown client, a membership-based association in the energy sector, is looking for a technically driven professional to take ownership of their databases—maintaining accurate activity statistics and delivering online training resources with the end user in mind.
The ideal candidate will be technically inclined—comfortable “speaking geek”—and able to collaborate closely with the developer on updates, change requests, and QA/QC.
This role is equal parts data, technology, and people. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between technical requirements and member-facing communication, collaborating with developers and vendors while supporting members and committees.
If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, digging into data, and making technology work seamlessly for people, this is the perfect fit for you!

EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in database management, administration, or a similar role.
  • Background in energy, technical services, or association environments considered an asset.
  • Experience collaborating with developers and/or vendors on technical projects.

SKILLS:

  • Tech-savvy with a basic understanding of coding and data systems.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mature, resourceful, and adaptable in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.

Base Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 per year

  • Salary based on experience and qualifications
  • Full benefits package included
Responsibilities

The key job functions are:

  • Manage and maintain multiple databases, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and functionality.
  • Provide support and training to members, addressing questions and enhancing the user experience.
  • Collaborate with developers on updates, change requests, QA/QC, and performance optimization.
  • Oversee data submissions, reporting, and audits to ensure 100% accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate reporting, invoicing, and tracking processes, ensuring transparency and consistency.
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve inquiries, verify deliverables, and manage service expectations.
  • Support committee administration, permit processes, and receivables reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency in database management.
