Job Summary: Fisher Control Valves known for performance and reliability help our customers meet production schedules, maintain product quality and improve plant efficiency. Part of the Flow Controls (FCV) business unit within industry leading Emerson portfolio of world class products and solutions, we bring expertise, technologies and services to take on the toughest challenges and bring predictable success. The Operations Director’s responsibility is to lead and continuously improve Flow Controls operations aligned with the business unit’s long-term strategy, in strong cooperation with the Asia Pacific and Global Operations teams The location of the position is Chennai, India. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Responsibility for Flow Controls operations in India specifically Karapakkam & Mahindra World City manufacturing locations in Chennai, FCV India Quality Management System, Business Information Systems Ensure the health and safety of employees and compliance to all trade regulations Develop, maintain, and implement manufacturing strategies that ensure sales plans are driven at best cost, enhancing return on capital, whilst delivering the required levels of quality and customer service Plant capacity plans short, medium and long term Development and execution of Sales and Operations Plan (SOP) Perfect Execution / Supply Chain development programs Purchasing strategies and supplier development with Global Supply Chain Product manufacturing Ensure operating results Cost Improvement programs (cost reductions, make/buy, job moves) Inventory strategies Capital plans Systems implementation and operation to best support business goals Drive long term automation strategy for production efficiency (factory / intelligent automation) Achieving world class lead times to support business growth Organizational design and ensure the ongoing development of the Operations organization Personnel development and training plans Support Human Resources team actively in maintaining, improving cordial relationship and also to secure amicable, sustainable agreements with the Union. Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment policies as laid by the organization Collaborate with and support the Chennai Parts Distribution team for synergy Active member of the Flow Controls India Leadership team Collaborate with and support Asia Pacific operations team to meet overall Asia Pacific operations goals and strategies Who You Are: You quickly and decisively take actions in fact-changing, unpredictable situations, always keep the end in sight and put in extra effort to meet deadlines, place team goals ahead of own goals, For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field. 15 to 20 years experience in operations leadership role in manufacturing or a related industry, preferable in major valve operations Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Proven track record running safe operations in a large manufacturing site Solid understanding of industry standards and compliance requirements Our Culture & Commitment to You: At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
