Description

Our Operations Directors are senior leaders within our organisation who not only ensure the effective delivery of patient care but also influence the Trust’s future direction and continued improvement aspirations. Proud to Make a Difference is not just our slogan but the way we do things.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the leadership of a range of surgical and medical services across the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Care Group based across our acute and community sites. We are looking for a talented individual who instinctively puts patients first and has a track record of leading teams to deliver high quality services in a large and complex organisation.
You will also be an advocate for our operational services, contributing corporately on a number of different projects including implementation of our new Electronic Patient Record and the professionalisation of our administrative team.
As well as a great job, our location provides the perfect mix of vibrant city life but with the beautiful Peak District countryside also on the doorstep. Known as the outdoor city, Sheffield is a lovey place to make your home.

Responsibilities

Directorates are well managed and well governed, in all facets, to a uniformly high standard and achieve objectives and outcomes agreed with the Directorates, set within a longer strategic framework.
Necessary capability, resources and capacity are identified, made available to achieve the objectives and are utilised as intended.
Services delivered by the Directorates are responsive, meet qualitative and quantitative standards, and services received by the Directorates are contributing positively to those standards.
Shared leadership responsibility with the Clinical Directors and Nurse Director to ensure that staff can fully contribute to achieving objectives and outcomes whilst fulfilling their own potential.
Activities of the Directorates are fully integrated into the whole system operation of the Trust including the leadership of programmes of work that go beyond the boundaries of the Directorates.
Systems exist within the Directorates, consistent with Trust policies that achieve compliance with the corporate and clinical governance standards required of the Trust.
Innovative ideas, products and services that improve health outcomes and support an active research culture are nurtured and adopted.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
