Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (including evenings & weekends)
Are you an experienced hospitality professional ready to take the next step in your career? We are a family-run, single-unit hotel in Newton Mearns, and we’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Operations Duty Manager to join our dedicated team.
About the Role:
As Operations Duty Manager, you’ll take a leading role in the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring a seamless experience for all our guests. This includes active involvement behind the bar and in the restaurant as part of your daily responsibilities. You will also be expected to fill in across departments where needed, stepping up during staff shortages, sudden absences, or high-demand periods to keep service standards consistently high.
You’ll be central to delivering and coordinating conferences, banqueting, and large events, such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, and anniversaries, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily hotel operations and support front-line staff across departments
Provide high-quality service in the bar, restaurant, and events spaces
Step in and support wherever needed to cover last-minute staff absences or shortages
Manage and help deliver large-scale functions and events
Uphold our reputation for excellent customer service and attention to detail
Work closely with the owners and management team to maintain smooth operations
Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of experience in hospitality, plus at least 2 years in a customer service role
Strong conference and banqueting knowledge
Confident and capable of performing bar and restaurant service duties
Proven ability to manage and support large events and functions
Hands-on, flexible approach to work with a team-focused mindset
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as part of a rotating schedule
