Overall Purpose: Responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the power plant during his assigned shift schedule. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates with Trading Group regarding plant dispatch (i. e. energy offers, ancillary services) in a timely manner considering the plant’s reliability and availability. Supervises MHEP plant operations during his assigned shift and ensures proper turn-over to the incoming Operations Engineer Ensures that plant abnormalities are evaluated and referred to maintenance for proper action and these shall be monitored until closure. Coordinates with NGCP System Operation on system abnormalities and National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Representative on water releases. Ensures that operations preventive maintenance activities are properly accomplished as scheduled. Prepares required Operations reports. Ensures that records of parameters (i. e. log sheets, logbooks) are validated for consistency and accuracy. Ensures timely submission of the daily operating status reports and advisories thru SMS to the Management. Leads and directs plant operations personnel during emergency situations such as fire, threats to security, and other calamities. Understands and participates in the implementation of the Company’s Quality, Environment, Safety and Health programs. Performs other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
