He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role Watercare are currently seeking an experienced Operation Engineer to join our team to support our Puketutu Island site. This role provides an interface between operational staff and third parties on site to ensure the efficient and effective operation of this biosolids disposal facility. The key tasks of the role include: Oversee and manage contractor performance, contracts, and service delivery on site Ensure accurate data collection and reporting to meet resource consent and management plan requirements Provide quality assurance and oversight for on-site construction activities Ensure all activities meet statutory, regulatory, and corporate obligations Support efficient delivery of civil construction works on site Lead and promote health & safety, ensuring safe operations across the site Optimise asset performance and minimise operational costs Support financial control across operational and capital budgets Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you You'll be a confident, enthusiastic problem-solver with a 'can-do' attitude who loves a challenge and works well under pressure. In this role you will bring: A relevant Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Experience with heavy machinery – operation and maintenance Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, systems, standards and requirements At least 5 years' experience working as an Engineer in a similar environment. Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
