The Opportunity We are looking for an Operations Engineer to join the Technical Operations team at Sysco LABS. The Operations Engineer will primarily provide comprehensive technical support services for various systems and platforms used by Sysco Corporation across the United States, Canada & Europe. Responsibilities: Monitor & Maintain: Overseeing application platforms and cloud infrastructure ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability across environments Proactive Issue Detection: Implementing and maintaining monitoring and logging to detect anomalies and minimize service disruptions Reactive Support & Troubleshooting: Providing production support including API-level troubleshooting, log analysis, and resolving both technical and end-user issues within defined SLA commitments Team Collaboration: Working closely with engineering, infrastructure, and incident response teams to ensure swift and effective issue resolution Incident Analysis & Problem Management: Conducting post-incident reviews, documenting troubleshooting runbooks, and contributing to proactive problem prevention through process improvements and knowledge-sharing Automation & Scripting: Developing and maintaining Python and Shell scripts to automate operational tasks, infrastructure checks, and deployment processes Cloud Optimization & Scaling: Managing, optimizing, and scaling services on AWS and GCP, ensuring efficient usage of cloud resources and cost-effectiveness Database Support: Executing and optimizing queries in Oracle and PostgreSQL for monitoring data integrity, issue diagnosis, and supporting analytics needs 24/7 Operational Support: Participating in a roster-based support model, delivering round-the-clock operational coverage to meet business-critical SLAs Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 1+ years of experience in technical support or systems administration roles Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or equivalent platforms Hands-on experience in supporting and maintaining MDM platforms (e.g., Stibo STEP) or ERP systems is a plus Practical experience working with AWS and GCP cloud environments, particularly in ECS, EKS, Lambda and EC2 workloads Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments; ability to perform system-level diagnostics and support Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar Exposure to API-level troubleshooting and analyzing system-level logs and integrations A solid understanding of Oracle and PostgreSQL with the ability to write and optimize queries for data analysis and issue resolution Experience with Python or Shell scripting for automation and operational efficiency A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, driven by a passion for learning, optimization, and automation An excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments Benefits: US dollar-linked compensation Performance-based annual bonus Performance rewards and recognition Agile Benefits - special allowances for Health, Wellness & Academic purposes Paid birthday leave Team engagement allowance Comprehensive Health & Life Insurance Cover - extendable to parents and in-laws Overseas travel opportunities and exposure to client environments Hybrid work arrangement Sysco LABS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
