ABOUT THE ROLE

Equity Mates is looking for an Operations Executive to join our growing team. You’ll work directly with the Chief Operating Officer to help the business run more efficiently, grow faster, and make better decisions. It’s a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety and thrives on getting things done.
We’re looking for someone with strong business acumen, a sharp analytical brain, and an appetite to learn. If you’re a generalist who enjoys solving problems, running projects, and turning chaos into clarity this is for you.
Equity Mates Media operates as an independent media business within the Betashares Financial Group, combining entrepreneurial DNA with the backing of one of Australia’s leading financial services providers, offering the country’s broadest range of ETFs, diversified portfolios, and innovative investment solutions through Betashares Direct and Superannuation. This unique partnership allows us to maintain our authentic voice and creative independence while leveraging world-class resources and expertise to amplify our impact.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will cover a broad range of operational tasks, with a focus on supporting the Chief Operating Officer to run the business more efficiently, track performance, and execute initiatives.

Responsibilities will evolve as the business grows, but examples include:

• Supporting the COO in delivering internal projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Preparing agendas and materials for meetings, quarterly planning sessions, and team offsites.
• Tracking KPIs, action items, and team goals across the business. Including generating actionable insights to guide strategic and operational decisions.
• Assisting with compliance tasks under our AFSL (e.g. board minutes, register upkeep).
• Providing support with budgeting, financial reporting, and audit processes.
• Managing the end-to-end financial advice referral program, including working directly with partners and optimising the referral funnel to improve user conversion and drive revenue.
• Managing EDM automations, including onboarding flows, re-engagement campaigns, and subscriber list hygiene.
• Supporting the execution of paid growth strategies (e.g. Facebook Ads).
• Owning updates and performance of the Equity Mates website.
