Description

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the day-to-day coordination of activities across the hospital, ensuring smooth patient flow from admission through to discharge.
  • Make confident decisions in a dynamic environment, adapting plans as priorities change and ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the daily flow of patients and procedures across the hospital.
  • Support the effective allocation of clinical resources, facilities, and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, nursing, and support teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Assist in coordinating urgent cases and changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Act as a key communication link between departments including reception, wards, and specialist teams.
  • Ensure colleagues are kept informed of operational plans and schedule changes.
  • Support patient admissions, discharges, and client communications.
  • Monitor operational effectiveness and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain a strong focus on patient welfare, safety, and exceptional client service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within a busy operational, coordination, or scheduling environment.
  • Experience coordinating people, resources, or workflows.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Outstanding organisation and planning abilities.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Desirable: Experience within healthcare, veterinary, clinical, or patient-focused environments and working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
