Position Title: Operations & Facilities Manager at Camp Nutimik
Reports To: Executive Director
Positions Supervised: Seasonal Maintenance Staff & Volunteers
Remuneration: Housing and base salary to be determined by the Board.
This is a full-time on-site staff position.
Camp Nutimik is looking for an Operations & Facilities Manager to join our staff team. Camp Nutimik is a not-for-profit, biblically based organization affiliated with the Manitoba Baptist Association located 115 KM from Winnipeg, Manitoba in the beautiful Whiteshell Provincial Park.
The purpose of this position is to oversee and maintain the physical assets of Camp Nutimik by developing and implementing a maintenance management system (prevention, correction and construction). These responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that will glorify Jesus Christ and fulfill the Camp’s Mission Statement to the highest standard of excellence possible.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in construction, plumbing, electrical, etc. or the aptitude and desire to learn quickly
  • Self-starter
  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Independent worker
  • Willingness to take instruction; desire to learn
  • Prior experience or the aptitude to provide Christian mentoring to seasonal staff
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a part of a team that lives remotely
  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Individuals Registry Check
    This year-round position requires relocation to the camp. Housing and some meal benefits are provided. They are taxable benefits which are calculated into the yearly wage.

Responsibilities
  • Identify maintenance priorities in consultation with the Executive Director
  • Oversee the use and care of all maintenance equipment and supplies
  • Implement a system for regular maintenance and upkeep of camp buildings and grounds including routine duties such as mowing, painting, etc
  • Ensure proper and safe storage of all equipment and maintain appropriate records and inventory
  • Develop a schedule for checking the physical plant and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair
  • Schedule routine maintenance and vendor contracts on equipment and services including trash removal, recycling, sewer, water, etc
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with the budget.
  • Manage natural resources of the camp to ensure protection and proper utilization occurs
  • Oversee and maintain the Camp’s drinking water system in accordance with the Provincial Office of Drinking Water standards
  • Respond to emergencies on the physical plant and site
  • Together with the Executive Director obtain appropriate licenses, permits, approvals from local and provincial regulatory agencies
  • Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines, including local, provincial and federal guidelines as well as Manitoba Camping Association Accreditation Standards
  • Participate in training and certification courses as required
  • Assist in the hosting and implementation of all camp facility rentals as per the Camp’s established guidelines
  • Hire, supervise, train and coordinate staff & volunteers engaged in the maintenance and improvement of the camp’s buildings, equipment, and other facilities
  • Provide spiritual leadership (prayer, bible study, feedback, encouragement, etc.) to seasonal maintenance team and volunteers
